The Law of the Harvest

It's important for men to learn how to do domestic chores. This is not necessarily so that they can do more work around the house, but merely so that they can get by when left alone. Simple tasks such as how to warm something up in the oven, how to do a load of laundry, and how to clean nacho cheese out of plush carpeting can go a long way in assuring a man's survival. Don't go overboard now, more complex tasks like preparing a meal, sorting laundry, and making shopping lists are best left to the professionals.
There is also a certain level of pride that comes from taking care of one's own problems. For instance, I had a nice pair of pants that wore out at the knees. I was able to apply a patch to the affected area and come away with once again functional pants. Granted, the pants were blue jeans, and the patches were camouflaged gortex, but that did not distract at all from the quality stitching (done with yellow thread).
Unfortunately, the pants tore again a few days later, rendering them nonfunctional once again. I guess that's the Law of the Harvest, you rip what you sew.
